AI data handling & privacy

The answer depends on the deployment. We explain the difference.

AI processing can run on NVG-managed infrastructure or through third-party API providers, depending on your size, budget, call volume, and requirements. NVG explains the processing, storage, and retention boundaries of the actual solution—not a blanket sovereignty slogan.

Flexible AI processing

Choose NVG-managed infrastructure or third-party APIs according to your requirements.

Canadian storage & retention

Canadian NVG-hosted storage and configurable retention are available.

Non-AI alternative

External AI processing is not your only call-handling option.

Storage and AI processing are not the same question.

NVG owns and operates two Canadian data centers, and Canadian NVG-hosted storage is available for supported AI receptionist configurations. That describes where designated records are stored; it does not automatically describe every external service involved in processing a call.

Depending on your organization’s size, budget, call volume, and technical and privacy requirements, AI processing can run on NVG-managed infrastructure or through third-party API providers. NVG-hosted processing can reduce reliance on external AI providers; we still review the complete call flow, storage, retention, and any connected services so the actual boundaries are clear.

When third-party APIs are used, information required for those functions may be transmitted to and processed by those providers. Their processing locations, retention practices, and subprocessors can differ.

For that reason, we do not claim that every AI deployment is entirely Canadian-hosted or that no information can ever leave Canada. We review the requirements and explain the data handling relevant to your configuration before deployment.

Follow the call, then assess each step.

This is an explanatory model, not a promise that every deployment uses the same providers or sequence.

  1. Step 1

    Caller connects

A customer calls your business and enters the call flow configured for your organization.

  2. Step 2

    NVG call handling

The business phone platform manages answering, routing, transfer, and related call functions.

  3. Step 3

    Enabled AI functions

Approved AI functions run on NVG-managed infrastructure or use third-party APIs, according to the selected deployment.

  4. Step 4

    Records & retention

Messages, transcripts, summaries, and retention are handled according to the deployment configuration.

Choose the conversation before choosing the configuration.

Start with your operational needs and data requirements. We can then explain which approach is suitable and what its boundaries are.

AI processing on NVG-managed infrastructure

For suitable requirements and budgets, design the AI processing deployment on NVG-managed infrastructure. This can reduce reliance on external AI providers; the complete call flow and any connected services are still reviewed separately.

AI processing through third-party APIs

Use third-party AI providers where their capabilities and economics fit the deployment. We explain the provider involvement, processing considerations, and retention limitations relevant to the selected configuration.

Canadian storage with configurable retention

Store supported records on NVG infrastructure in Canada and review retention settings for the deployment. Storage location alone does not describe every processing step or connected service.

Non-AI call handling

Use conventional business-phone call handling when AI processing is not appropriate for your organization or a particular call flow.

Six questions worth documenting.

These are especially important when calls may contain client, patient, financial, employee, or other sensitive information.

  • What call content and related information will each enabled function process?
  • Which functions involve third-party AI providers?
  • Where will storage and processing occur for this configuration?
  • What retention settings apply, and what provider limitations exist?
  • Who needs access to messages, transcripts, summaries, or recordings?
  • Would a non-AI call flow be more appropriate for certain conversations?

Straight answers about AI data.

Can AI processing run on NVG-managed infrastructure?

Yes. Depending on your organization’s size, budget, call volume, and technical and privacy requirements, we can design a deployment with AI processing on NVG-managed infrastructure or through third-party API providers. We review the complete configuration and its data-flow boundaries with you before deployment.

Is every AI processing step guaranteed to stay in Canada?

No blanket guarantee applies to every deployment. NVG-hosted AI processing and Canadian NVG-hosted storage are available, while third-party API processing may be used in other configurations. Processing locations and provider involvement depend on the selected solution.

Can NVG store our call records in Canada?

Canadian NVG-hosted storage is available for supported deployment configurations. We distinguish that storage location from AI processing and any other connected services so you can evaluate each part clearly.

Can we configure retention?

Yes. Configurable data retention is available. Appropriate settings and any provider-specific limitations are reviewed for your deployment.

Can we choose call handling without external AI processing?

Yes. A non-AI call-handling alternative is available. We can discuss conventional routing and other business-phone options without enabling external AI processing.
